Job Description
We’re looking for a Lead After-School Instructor to lead STEM-focused classes in Fullerton, CA. If you're enthusiastic about teaching and enjoy working with students, this role offers an impactful way to share your passion and help shape future scientists and engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach structured, engaging STEM lessons for elementary and middle schoolers
- Facilitate hands-on projects and group learning
- Maintain a positive and safe classroom atmosphere
- Be available weekday afternoons (most programs begin around 1:00 PM)
- Commute to local schools in the Fullerton area
Qualifications
- Love for science and helping kids learn by doing
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and consistent personal transportation
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Background working with students (camps, tutoring, classrooms, etc.)
- Interested in a future in STEM or education
- Confident, organized, and coachable
- Dependable and professional attitude

What does a typical day look like for an after-school STEM instructor?
Our instructors lead hands-on STEM lessons at elementary and middle schools in the afternoon, typically starting between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Each session lasts about an hour and includes a mix of structured teaching, group activities, and science or engineering projects. Lesson plans and materials are provided.

Do I need a teaching credential or degree to apply?
No, a teaching credential or degree is not required. We welcome applicants who are passionate about STEM education and have experience working with youth in educational, camp, or tutoring settings. Many of our instructors are college students pursuing careers in education or science.

How does scheduling work, and how many hours will I get?
This is a part-time role with flexible weekday scheduling. Most instructors work 15–20 hours per week, depending on availability and program needs. We try to match you with school sites close to your location and availability.

Yes, instructors travel to schools within a specific region (like Los Angeles County or Orange County). Reliable transportation is required, and we make every effort to assign you to locations that minimize travel time.
